Controversial Doctor and Autism Media Channel Director proven right – MMR Vaccine Causes Autism & Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Press Release March 8, 2013.

Two landmark events – a government concession in the US Vaccine Court, and a groundbreaking scientific paper – confirm that physician, scientist, and Autism Media Channel [AMC] Director, Dr. Andrew Wakefield, and the parents were right all along.

In a recently published December 13, 2012 vaccine court ruling, hundreds of thousands of dollars were awarded to Ryan Mojabi, [i] whose parents described how “MMR vaccinations,” caused a “severe and debilitating injury to his brain, diagnosed as Autism Spectrum Disorder (‘ASD’).”

Later the same month, the government suffered a second major defeat when young Emily Moller from Houston won compensation following vaccine-related brain injury that, once again, involved MMR and resulted in autism. The cases follow similar successful petitions in the Italian and US courts (including Hannah Poling [ii], Bailey Banks [iii], Misty Hyatt [iv], Kienan Freeman [v], Valentino Bocca [vi], and Julia Grimes [vii]) in which the governments conceded or the court ruled that vaccines had caused brain injury. In turn, this injury led to an ASD diagnosis. MMR vaccine was the common denominator in these cases.

And today, scientists and physicians from Wake Forest University, New York, and Venezuela, reported findings that not only confirm the presence of intestinal disease in children with autism and intestinal symptoms, but also indicate that this disease may be novel. [viii] Using sophisticated laboratory methods Dr. Steve Walker and his colleagues endorsed Wakefield’s original findings by showing molecular changes in the children’s intestinal tissues that were highly distinctive and clearly abnormal.

From 1998 Dr. Wakefield discovered and reported intestinal disease in children with autism. [ix] Based upon the medical histories of the children he linked their disease and their autistic regression to the Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR vaccine). He has since been subjected to relentless personal and professional attacks in the media, and from governments, doctors and the pharmaceutical industry. In the wake of demonstrably false and highly damaging allegations of scientific fraud by British journalist Brian Deer and the British Medical Journal, Dr. Wakefield is pursuing defamation proceedings against them in Texas. [x]

While repeated studies from around the world confirmed Wakefield’s bowel disease in autistic children [xi] and his position that safety studies of the MMR are inadequate, [xii] Dr. Wakefield ’s career has been destroyed by false allegations.  Despite this he continues to work tirelessly to help solve the autism catastrophe.

The incidence of autism has rocketed to a risk of around 1 in 25 for children born today. Meanwhile governments, absent any explanation and fearing loss of public trust, continue to deny the vaccine autism connection despite the concessions in vaccine court.

Speaking from his home in Austin, Texas, Dr. Wakefield said,

There can be very little doubt that vaccines can and do cause autism. In these children, the evidence for a n adverse reaction involving brain injury following the MMR that progresses to an autism diagnosis is compelling. It’s now a question of the body count. The parents’ story was right all along. Governments must stop playing with words while children continue to be damaged . My hope is that recognition of the intestinal disease in these children will lead to the relief of their suffering. This is long , long overdue .”

Dr. Andrew Wakefield is a best selling author, [xi] founder of the autism research non profit Strategic Autism Initiative (SAI), and Director of the Autism Media Channel.

  1. Reblogged this on No Compulsory Vaccination and commented:
How many more children will become autistic after MMR (and other) vaccines before the government finally decides to do the one thing they have refused to do in the over 200 years since we started using vaccines – a study comparing the overall health (including the rate of vaccination) in those who are fully vaccinated as compared with the fully unvaccinated?

  2. What wonderful news! Many have been waiting for a long time while Dr. Walker et al obtained the independent funding to complete the research he’d begun some years before. I’m grateful for your good reporting, grateful to the good doctors, grateful for those who provided the funding for the research.

  3. What an utterly ridiculous article! Of course MMR was a common thread between those children. It’s a common thread between just about ALL children, including those who do NOT get ASD.

And 1 in 25?! Are you kidding? It is 1 in 88. I work in Autism research, thank you very much.

This entire article is bound to be debunked in no time. This kind of nonsense is so destructive to public health.

  4. @ S C

Is it also nonsense that these children, like mine, suffer each day from a disease caused by the vaccines?

The only destructiveness to public health are the vaccines.

    [ED: Clearly not nonsense.

@SC did not trouble to read and check the references to one of CHS’ top stories – which people like @SC have a great deal of difficulty with because you cannot debunk what is a matter of public record:

Vaccination Causes Autism – Say US Government & Merck’s Director of Vaccines

That vaccines in general cause autistic conditions [and not just the MMR] has been confirmed multiple times such as 1) publicly on US national TV by current Merck head of Vaccine Division Julie Gerberding [and when she was the former US Centers for Disease Control director] 2) by the US Health Resources Services Administration to CBS News.

This is in addition to MMR being conceded as the cause in specific cases by the US and Italian government health officials on the basis of their expert medical and scientific advice in the numerous court decisions listed above.

And that vaccines in general cause autistic conditions is one reason why none of the statistical studies people like @SC hold up as “proving” there is no causal association are pointless. There are no valid controls to compare against.

Comparing populations of children who include those with autistic conditions as a result of the MMR vaccine to children who have autistic conditions caused by vaccines in general is clearly always never going to show MMR is the cause. The signal is lost in the noise.

Of course other reasons why such statistical studies are invald include they have been shown to be highly questionable in themselves.

And they are not epidemiology – having generally no detailed examination of clinical histories of any of the cases – they are just statistical studies.

And of course statistical studies can only ever demonstrate an appearance of an association. They can never demonstrate and are never evidence that any factor is NOT the cause of any condition. It is a basic fact of how causation is demonstrated in biological systems. Something these people all conveniently choose to overlook in their eagerness to ensure children continue to develop serious debilitating conditions as a result of vaccines.

People like @SC only like evidence which confirms what they want to hear and not evidence which tells them what they want to hear is untrue.]

  6. i was wondering why my local ABC news ran a one minute announcement (last saturday night) with very little fanfare, no commentary, no credits about some unnamed study conducted by unnamed scientists, over an unknown amount of time of 1,000 children concluded, just “recently” that there is no link to autism… now i know why they ran this totally bogus message… it’s amazing & unfortunate that those propaganda messages work on the psyches of the people, but, eventually the propaganda house of cards ALWAYS falls…i KNOW it will be in Wakefields lifetime… i just know it… thanks for all your work CHS.. and Wakefield too!

  9. To the commentary writer called S C. You said:

    “What an utterly ridiculous article!”

    “I work in Autism research”

I guess if the cause of Autism was discovered, you’d be out of work. And that would be the real reason why you’d make such a antagonistic comment.
