British & Japanese Data Show Vaccines Cause Autism

We previously published data from Japan showing a clear causal link between changes in the Japanese vaccination schedules and corresponding increases and decreases in rates of children having autistic conditions:- Japanese Data Show Vaccines Cause Autism. The UK’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation’s irresponsible and only answer to the Japanese data was it was “not UK data”.

Data from the UK’s General Practice Research Database shows that with each major change in the UK childhood vaccination programme the rates of childhood autism have increased significantly [Full Details Below].

And do vaccines cause autistic conditions?  If you read nothing else we strongly recommend you read this: PDF Download – Text of May 5th 2008 email from US HRSA to Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News].  In it the US Health Resources Services Administration [HRSA] state to CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson

We have compensated cases in which children exhibited an encephalopathy, or general brain disease. Encephalopathy may be accompanied by a medical progression of an array of symptoms including autistic behavior, autism, or seizures.”

Despite all the lies and deceit by health official worldwide, the question “do vaccines cause autism” was answered after the Hannah  Poling story broke in the USA in February 2008 [see CHS article here].  Hannah developed an autistic condition after 9 vaccines administered the same day.  Under the media spotlight numerous US health officials and agencies conceded on broadcast US nationwide TV news from CBS and CNN. Data from the UK’s General Practice Research Database

The current UK rate of children with autistic conditions is 1 in 64 [or 157 per 10,000 children]: “Prevalence of autism-spectrum conditions: UK school-based population study” Baron-Cohen S, Scott FJ, Allison C, Williams J, Bolton P, Matthews FE and Brayne C (2009) British Journal of Psychiatry, 194: 500-509.

The rate in boys is 1 in 40.  Prior to 1988 which saw the first of several major changes to the UK childhood vaccination programmes the rate of childhood autism was running at between 1 and 4 in 10,000.  Childhood autism is also known as “typical” or “Kanner” autism.

In addition to vaccines being a biologically plausible cause of the worldwide increases in autistic conditions in children we have also seen legal cases in the USA confirming vaccines have caused autism in US children: AUTISM – US Court Decisions and Other Recent Developments – It’s Not Just MMR

The data presented here provides further evidence of the unscientific approach of medical researchers when publishing papers purporting to support the claim there is no association between vaccines and autism.

The graph above is adapted from a 2001 paper by Jick et al.  The authors claimed [emphasis added]:-

“... the data provide evidence that no correlation exists between the prevalence of MMR vaccination and the rapid increase in the risk of autism over time. The explanation for the marked increase in risk of the diagnosis of autism in the past decade remains uncertain. ….. The increase ….. could be due to …… environmental factors not yet identified.”

“Mumps, measles, and rubella vaccine and the incidence of autism recorded by general practitioners: a time trend analysis” BMJ 2001;322:460-463 24 February.

The data shows something different and when correlated with major changes in the UK childhood vaccination programme shows what are the most likely “environmental factors not yet identified“.  With each major change to the UK’s childhood vaccination programme cases of childhood autism increased substantially.

The childhood autism risk increased three-fold for children born in 1988 and 1989 from the previous rate of between 1 and 4 in 10,000 to 12 in 10,000. 

The major change: the MMR vaccine was introduced in October 1988.  Routine administration was at around 15 months.

The childhood autism risk increased five-fold for children born in 1990 and 1991 to 20 in 10,000 from the pre 1988 rate of 1 to 4 in 10,000.

The major change: in May 1990 the accelerated DTP vaccine programme was introduced.  British babies were given the DTP vaccine substantially earlier at 2, 3 and 4 months instead of the previous 3, 5 and 10 months: [Persistence of antibody after accelerated immunisation with diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis vaccine: 1489 BMJ VOLUME 302 22 JUNE 1991]

The childhood autism risk increased nearly eight-fold for children born in 1993 to 29 in 10,000 from the pre 1988 rate of 1 to 4 in 10,000.

The major change: the Haemophilus Influenzae b vaccine was introduced in October 1992.  Routine administration was three doses at 2, 3 and 4  months.  [Routine Hib Vaccine: 438 BMJ VOLUME 305 22 AUGUST 1992, Hib immunisation catch up programme in North East Thames: R17 Communicable Disease Report Vol 4 Review Number 2 4 February 1994]

It appears it was only from 1993 that most infants were vaccinated at 2, 3 and 4 months with those born earlier being vaccinated at later ages in “catch-up campaigns”. This data suggests that to reduce the risk of autism from vaccines parents should delay the age at which their children are vaccinated.

One study shows that average vaccine coverage by November 1993 was 34% for 1989 births, 77% for 1990 births, 87% for 1991 births, and 89% for 1992 births: [“Haemophilus influenzae: the efficiency of reporting invasive disease in England and Wales” Communicable Disease Report R13 4:2 4 February 1994].

Japanese Data Show Vaccines Cause Autism

    Thank you for this information. To me the link between vaccination and autism and other disorders is undeniable. If a child is developing normally and then shortly after vaccination begins to regress and never recovers, the obvious conclusion is that the vaccine is to blame. This would be true if it were only one child but when this is repeated many thousands of times it must be undeniable. In fact the mass vaccination of children could be regarded as a giant trial that should conclude that vaccination can cause autism. However, the kind of figures and the graphs on this post are extremely useful to help make the point to politicians and the public. I would like to know more. For instance, how many of those cases of autism showed up immediately after, or within a few days or a week of vaccination? How many of those children also have bowel problems?
    I have posted this page as a link on the cryshame website on Facebook which supports Dr Wakefield and the other 2 doctors.

    I’ve read elsewhere that the increase in autism rates are simply due to increased diagnosis, not increased incidence. In other words, many children that are diagnosed with autism today would not have been diagnosed with autism 20 years ago. This is a good thing because it means that children who 20 years ago would not have received the help that they needed will now get the recognition and assistance that they need. I’d be interested to here people’s thoughts on this, because the argument seems quite convincing to me.

    [ED: What has happened since 1993? The prevalence of autism has increased dramatically. It is now 1 in 64 in the UK.

    The above 2001 paper is an example of the unscientific approach of medical researchers who have unexplained data and do not ask or attempt to answer the questions a scientist would.

    The better diagnosis/recognition argument bit the dust ages ago with those in the know and in more recent studies. The argument means twenty years ago 95 out of every hundred cases of autism went unnoticed. Childhood/typical/Kanner autism in particular is difficult to miss.

The study in the link provided by Daryl simply states an opinion without any data to support it. This is what many of the so called “scientific studies” that “prove” autism isn’t cause by vaccines end up doing. They will claim that empirical data and scientific research are not scientific, but that their opinions are science…which of course to any actual scientist is complete nonsense. Studies such as that are nothing more than public relations and marketing funded by vaccine manufacturers ….. because they may not have done any actual research …. .

    Severe cases of autism could never have been missed but my experience from teaching tells me that milder forms are rarely diagnosed. I left teaching ten years ago. I taught four year olds and I noticed four boys in my last three years who could not relate to other children and who exhibited odd and inappropriate behaviour, which I thought to be autism. One was a typical Asperger’s syndrome child. However, I was not allowed to diagnose. Only the educational psychologist was allowed to this and he told me that “we do not put labels on children”. I think this attitude is the same today.

    When autistic children are diagnosed it might help them get into an appropriate school but the health service will not treat them. This means doctors are breaking the Hippocratic Oath; everyone should have the right to treatment under the NHS. Dr Wakefield helped these children and treated them and the parents say that his treatment helped the children and relieved their pain from bowel disease. Dr Wakefield suggested more investigation was needed and ended up in the dock for his trouble. This has resulted in other doctors being afraid give treatment and afraid to speak out. And they feel obliged to give vaccinations even when they know they are harmful. They, too, are breaking the Hippocratic Oath which says “Do no harm”

    I note that your quote from the epidemiology paper above actually comes from the press release. I do not have access to the full paper, but I can see that the abstract concludes…

    “Other artifacts have yet to be quantified, and as a result, the extent to which the continued rise represents a true increase in the occurrence of autism remains unclear.”

    So while this paper might have some interesting things to say about the topic, I’d hardly call it authoritative.

    In regard to the question about adults with autism, the NHS recently did a study on exactly that.

    It appears that 1% of 30 year olds have ASD, in line with the percentage of children currently diagnosed with the disorder, and way higher than the diagnosis rate 25 years ago. It is sad that many of these adults were not correctly diagnosed as children and did not (and still don’t) receive the support that they really need.

You can start with the thalidomide scandal, psychiatric drugs and run through them all including recent ones like Vioxx.

    Do you believe they never happened? Some people believe the holocaust never happened. Is that the category you are in?

    Who needs conspiracy theories when corruption, greed and self interest work pretty well all by themselves.]

    You are right, I did promise to go away. But then you suggested that I might be a holocaust denier, and, well, I felt obliged to renege on my previous promise.

    So, on to your comment.

    1. Using the term “long and well documented” when the facts are disputed, and all parties involved deny your allegations, is exactly what a conspiracy theorist would say.

    2. I never equated corruption with conspiracy. The sentence you wrote is “There is a long and well documented history of corruption… running through many levels…”. This is a textbook example of a conspiracy. Corruption per se does not require a conspiracy, but coordinated corruption does.

    The thing that amuses me is that I have no qualms with conspiracy theories, I have some myself. For example, I believe that there is a conspiracy by some highly polluting industries, some scientist and some government officials to deliberately and dishonestly promote public confusion about the science of global warming, for their own personal gain. I also accept that there have been multiple conspiracies in the pharmaceutical industry to hide unwelcome results. I also believe that it is possible (but in no way proven) that there is an environmental trigger of autism, and it is also possible (although unlikely) that various researchers are being coerced into obfuscating the issue to hide such a link. There is nothing wrong with conspiracy theories and there is nothing wrong with being a conspiracy theorist.

    But you are insisting that everything you write is uncontested fact, and that is just plain ludicrous. Still, even if that was true, you’d still be describing a conspiracy, it would just be a conspiracy fact rather than a conspiracy theory.

    [ED: If you want to dispute “There is a long and well documented history of corruption in the pharmaceutical industry and commercial medicine running through many levels, including government and medical publishing.” you are more than welcome but that does not overcome the first problem you have which is there is just such a long and well documented history.

    If you want to claim it is all a conspiracy theory, you are also welcome to do so but you also have a problem in that it is neither conspiracy nor theory.

What I should have said in reply is that while there are of course well documented cases of conspiracies in the pharmaceutical industry, the proposed link between vaccines and autism is not one of them. The proposed link between vaccines and autism is an as yet unproven conspiracy theory. You can say what you want, but until such time as childhood vaccines are banned (as has happened with the other examples you cite), your supposed facts are merely allegations, and any correlations between the vaccine schedule and autism rates are just that, correlations.

    I just wanted to clear that up. Now that really is all. For now.

Από ζήλο για την εξάλειψη σχετικά ήπιων μικροβίων, έχουμε ανταλλάξει προσωρινές ασθένειες για επίμονες, ισόβιες ασθένειες, διαταραχές, δυσλειτουργίες και αναπηρίες. Πόσα εμβόλια υπάρχουν; Εάν τα παιδιά της Αμερικής λάβουν όλες τις δόσεις όλων των εμβολίων, λαμβάνουν μέχρι 35 εμβολιασμούς και τους εγχέονται με ένεση 113 διαφορετικά είδη σωματιδίων ασθενειών, 59 διαφορετικά χημικά, 4 διαφορετικοί τύποι κυττάρων και DNA ζώων και ανθρώπινο DNA από ιστούς εμβρύων και ανθρώπινο λεύκωμα. Πώς είναι δυνατόν τα εμβόλια να μην είναι επιβλαβή για την υγεία σας; Μερικά από τα Συστατικά των Εμβολίων: • Αδέσποτοι ιοί και βακτηρίδια από τις καλλιέργειες, όπου παρασκευάζονται τα εμβόλια. • Ο υδράργυρος, ένα πολύ γνωστό δηλητήριο, βρίσκεται ακόμη σε φιαλίδια πολλαπλών δόσεων εμβολίων κατά της γρίπης. Ίχνη υπάρχουν και σε εμβόλια κατά άλλων ασθενειών. • Το Αλουμίνιο, ένα δηλητήριο που μπορεί να προκαλέσει εκφυλισμό στα οστά, στον μυελό των οστών και στον εγκέφαλο. • Ζωικά κύτταρα από πιθήκους, νεφρά σκύλου, κοτόπουλου, αγελάδας, και ανθρώπου. • Η φορμαλδεΰδη (υγρό ταρίχευσης), ένα γνωστό καρκινογόνο. • Πολυσορβικό 80, το οποίο προκαλεί στειρότητα σε ποντίκια. • Ζελατίνη από γουρούνια και αγελάδες, που μπορεί να προκαλέσει αναφυλαξία, βρίσκεται σε μεγάλες ποσότητες στα εμβόλια για MMR και ανεμοβλογιά. • Μονογλουταμινικό νάτριο (MSG) στο εισπνεόμενο εμβόλιο της γρίπης, που μπορεί να προκαλέσει μεταβολικές διαταραχές (π.χ. διαβήτης), και άλλες νευρολογικές διαταραχές. Σύγκρουση συμφερόντων -Οι ίδιοι άνθρωποι που κάνουν τους κανόνες και τις συστάσεις για τον εμβολιασμό κερδίζουν από την πώληση των εμβολίων. Για παράδειγμα, ο Δρ Julie Gerberding, ο οποίος ήταν επικεφαλής του Κέντρο Ελέγχου Νοσημάτων (CDC) για οκτώ χρόνια, είναι τώρα Πρόεδρος της Merck Vaccines. Ο Δρ Paul Offit, μέλος της Συμβουλευτικής Επιτροπής για την Εφαρμογή της Ανοσίας (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice ‐ ACIP), δημιούργησε και πατεντάρισε τα δικά του εμβόλια. -Σύμφωνα με το Κέντρο Ελέγχου Νοσημάτων (CDC) μια συνήθης ομάδα 10 παιδιάτρων των ΗΠΑ έχει απόθεμα εμβολίων αξίας πάνω από $ 100.000 στο ιατρείο τους. Οι ίδιοι αυτοί γιατροί κερδίζουν χρήματα από τις επισκέψεις, δίνοντας στα παιδιά σας εμβόλια. -Οι παιδίατροι στις ΗΠΑ δέχονται κάθε τρίμηνο μπόνους από τις ασφάλειες (HMOs) για τις οποίες εργάζονται, για να διατηρούν υψηλά ποσοστά εμβολιασμών. Τους επιπλήττουν οι ασφαλιστικές εταιρείες, όταν υπάρχει πτώση αυτών των ποσοστών. -Υπάρχει έρευνα που δείχνει τη διαφορά στην υγεία μεταξύ των εμβολιασμένων και των ανεμβολίαστων παιδιών; Το έργο Cal‐Oregon, που επιχορηγείται από την οργάνωση Generation Rescue, έκανε έρευνα σε γονείς εμβολιασμένων και μη εμβολιασμένων παιδιών των ΗΠΑ.Από τα 17.674 παιδιά που περιλαμβάνονται στην έρευνα, τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν: • τα εμβολιασμένα παιδιά είχαν 120% περισσότερο άσθμα. • τα εμβολιασμένα αγόρια είχαν 317% περισσότερο ADHD. • τα εμβολιασμένα αγόρια είχαν 185% περισσότερες νευρολογικές διαταραχές. • τα εμβολιασμένα αγόρια είχαν 146% περισσότερο αυτισμό. -Τα κορίτσια αντιπροσώπευαν μόνο το 20% του συνολικού αριθμού των παιδιών που συμμετείχαν στην έρευνα.
