Statement From Dr. Andrew Wakefield: No Fraud. No Hoax. No Profit Motive.
“The British Medical Journal and reporter Brian Deer recently alleged that my 1998 research paper was ‘a hoax’ and ‘an elaborate fraud’ and that my motivation was profit.
“I want to make one thing crystal clear for the record – my research and the serious medical problems found in those children were not a hoax and there was no fraud whatsoever. Nor did I seek to profit from our findings.
“I stand by the Lancet paper’s methodology and the results which call for more research into whether environmental triggers cause gastrointestinal disease and developmental regression in children. “It is not unexpected to see poor reporting and misinformation coming from Brian Deer, the lead reporter of the recent BMJ coverage. But to see coverage in other media that cites Deer’s shoddy journalism in the BMJ as a final justification to claim there is no link between vaccines and autism is ludicrous. The MMR is only one vaccine of the eleven vaccinations on the pediatric schedule that has been studied for causing developmental problems such as autism. That is fact, not opinion. Any medical professional, government official or journalist who states that the case is closed on whether vaccines cause autism is jumping to conclusions without the research to back it up.

I do not suspect that Autism is linked to the vaccine I know it is the cause, like thousands of parents around the world. I had a perfectly, happy baby, who was talking and reaching all his milestones, it wasn’t until I took the advise of a doctor that told me the MMR was safe, that our world was turned upside down. My son went into his own world since then. I blame the governments and pharmaceutical companies for being money hungry, and their reasoning, that 1 out 150 children with Autism, is better than an epidemic of measles, mumps or rubella. All I know is the vaccine cost my son and millions of others, a chance at having a normal an independent life. Dr. Wakefield put his career on the line to stand up and tell the truth, unlike other doctors that are only interested in their jobs.

I have 5 children. I have a 5 year old being treated against my wishes of course (ex-wife’s call) for ADHD. My youngest is only 3 weeks old. They tried to insist on a HepB shot before we left the hospital. I refused! The risk of catching HepB is the same as AIDS. Come ON! Health care should not be a business, but a service. The dangers of it being a business is what you see today. Medicines getting pushed out quick so the profits can start flowing without proper testing. When a problem is found then it is pushed out anyways to keep from losing the development costs. I am afraid of not getting vaccines, but I am afraid of getting them too. I think we can afford to skip the MMR but what about the polio and meningitis vaccines? Are these safe?

The entire process of Science as meaningful and credible has been corrupted by special interest groups, namely global pharmaceutical companies. Aided and abetted by the very agencies set up by the people, for the people to ensure the adherance of solid, scientific integrity and ethical practise, namely the Dept of Health and Human Services, (under which the FDA falls), CDC and USDA.
Who are those people? They are not elected officials! They are faceless plodding feet who shuffle from one committee meeting to the next, going through the motions of clearly scripted antics to appease only the minutes taker, and guided by their real directors, the financially motivated special interest groups! Yet they hold not only the US population but, thanks to their ” collaboration” with Codex, the entire global population, hostage to corrupt science, corrupt thinking and erroneous principles of ” making the science fit” !! Pathogens will NOT fit mans preconceived models of expected behaviour ! What Divine Arrogance on the part of govt officials everywhere. There should be NO price on public health! There should be NO strategic alliances between any aspects of health and pharmaceutical companies, NO strategic alliances between institutions of learning and corporate interest groups. I challenge mainstream media to become honest reporters of facts, not the corporate toadies that they have become. Dr. Wakefield, on behalf of free thinkers everywhere, congratulations on upholding the true tenents of Scientific Integrity.
